ASB Good As Gold
In 2017 Linda was awarded with the ASB Good As Gold award. This is award is given to Kiwis that are making a difference in their communities. Linda devotes her life to foster children in the Waikato, from fostering babies as young as 3 hours old, to making up care packs for every child in the region being fostered.
Person of the Year 2018
In 2018 Linda was awarded the Cambridge News Person of the year. Her work and efforts saw her named as the first-ever Cambridge News Person of the year. Linda was recognised for all of her hard work and the amount of lives she changed for the better.

For the kids in need
In 2014 Graeme and Linda Roil began fostering children, mostly new-borns, and providing emergency and respite care for older children. As a result of their personal experiences, they became increasingly concerned with the level of support for both the foster children and their caregivers, including grandparents raising grandchildren. Together they appealed to the community for donations to develop care packages for the "kids in need".

“I’ve fiddled with bikes for years,” he
Lately, his back lawn, his shed, and
even his neighbour’s shed, are all full
of bikes, in various stages of disrepair.
Graeme is restoring, repairing and
sometimes making one bike out of
two. All of these are then given to the
charity Kids in Need, which passes
them on to children in foster care.
